Kennel Tech
Responsible for the cleanliness, health, and well being of all puppies in the store,
and the overall kennel presentation. Duties include:
- Breaking down and disinfecting kennels before store opening
- Disinfecting the water bottles
- Disinfect toys and distribute daily
- Cleaning and disinfect dishes daily
- Mixing cleaning solutions
- Making sure all water bottles stay filled
- Making sure the kennels and trays stay clean throughout the day
- Sweeping and moping of kennel and sink area
- Feeding the animals
- Assisting with vet check
- Continuous knowledge of all the animals in the store and what is going on with them
- Performing the "daily six" health routine for each puppy

Pet Counselor
Responsible for general customer service, assisting customers to choose the
correct pet, and maintain the overall cleanliness and presentation of the store.
Minimum 2 years sales experience required. Duties include:
- Greeting and approaching customers
- Provide the best possible customer service
- 5 step sales procedure, including
- Attempting to add on to the sale
- Asking for the sale
- Causing shoppers to become buyers
- Answering the telephone
- Cleaning the doors, windows, and displays
- Dusting, rotating, and facing merchandise
- Operating the cash register and credit card machine, and making change
- Restocking merchandise from "overstock"
- Preparing the store for opening and closing
- Assisting with vet check
- Continuous knowledge of all the animals in the store and what is going on with them
Even though you may have additional job responsibilities that are more operational, selling
should be your major activity.

Fish Specialist
Responsible for the cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation of the fish department.
Also responsible for general customer service, assisting customers to choose the correct
pet. Duties include:
- Tank maintenance including cleaning, water exchanges, scraping algae, topping off tanks,
adjusting air supply, and changing filters.
- Determining when to do water changes
- Sweeping and mopping floors in the fish department
- Feeding fish
- Fish sales including netting and bagging fish
- Preparing the fish department for store opening and store closing

Store Manager
Minimum 2 years management experience required. Management is getting things done
through others. The ulitmate goal as a manager is to get to a point where concerning
yourself with how to generate more sales is your primary objective. Duties include:
- Hiring and training staff
- Effectively scheduling the staff
- Setting individual goals for the staff (sales, maintenance, etc.)
- Managing sales in the store by:
- Motivating the staff
- Holding daily puppy pow-wow
- Making sure sale scorecards are completed and maintained
- Setting weekly or biweekly meetings with the sales staff
- Managing animal health. The manager is ulitmately responsible for:
- The cleanliness of the animals and their environments
- Making sure all the animals are properly fed and watered
- Making sure all paperwork is correct and current for each animal
- Keeping animal control happy by making sure the store is within the paramaters of the ordinances
- Assisting in making healthcare decisions
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the store itself
- Ordering supplies and dry goods
- Making sure all paperwork is submitted on time
- Dealing with and resolving customer problems in a timely fashion
